Home clubs William Kaguta and Mary Kandu continue to dominate the fairways after sweeping the gross titles for Men and Ladies during the September 205 Mug and Ladies Pendant golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali golf and country club course in Mombasa county at the weekend.
Playing off handicap 4 Kaguta produced a 6 over par 77 gross and handicap 10 Kandu recorded a 9 0ver par 80 gross to emerge the best Men and lady gross winners respectively in the club supported tournament that brought together 114 players.

I have to say, it was a fantastic competition, and I’m honored to have played alongside such talented golfers. I want to extend my gratitude to the organizers for hosting this event and to my fellow competitors for their sportsmanship and camaraderie. I’d also like to thank my caddie and everyone who supported me throughout the tournament, ‘said Kaguta who has been dominating the gross category for the past several months.
On her Part Kandu said, “This win is a great achievement for me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to play this wonderful game. I’d like to thank my friends and everyone for their encouragement and support, it means the world to me. Kaguta also won the Division A in Mug category with 73 nett while handicap 9 Qambar Somji on 78 nett and handicap 9 Martin Ombura with 79 nett claimed the runners up and third placed slots respectively.
Sanjay Kotecha playing off handicap 17 brought 66 nett to win the Division B prize, the club’s immediate past Captain Dinesh Sasan playing off handicap 14 was the runners with 73 nett and taking the third slot on 73 nett was handicap 14 Dhanji Pindolia.
The C Division was won by handicap 23 Anand Thakker who had a score of 65 nett as handicap 20 Suresh Hirani on 69 nett and handicap 19 Tom Soigwa’s 70 nett placed them as runners up and third respectively.
Handicap 33 Anders Malar survived to win the D division on a count back score of 70 nett after tying with runners placed handicap 29 Lee Gristwood.
The guest prize was won by handicap 17 Keigo Nakamura with a score of 79 nett and handicap 8 Kennedy Kamau brought 72 nett to emerge the best Male Caddy.

On the Ladies side handicap 14 Christine Ockotch emerged the pendant and the Division A winner on a count back score of 69 nett after tying with handicap 15 Betty Bundotich who was the runners up and Mary Kandu playing off handicap 10 was third on a score of 70 nett.
Angel Wangari playing off handicap 35 won the B Division with a score of 69 nett while handicap 23 Alice Wahome on 71 nett and handicap 23 Everlyne Akinyi on 73 nett emerged runners up and third respectively.
The Division C saw handicap 46 Pervis Barnsley walk home with the top prize while handicap 17 Janet Ouma emerged the best Lady caddy on a score of 63 nett.
The guest prize was claimed by handicap 44 Jane Gwaro with a score of 76 nett and handicap 15 Betty Bundotich recorded 29 putts to emerge the best putter.
