KCB East Africa Golf Tour enters its 10th round this weekend as Kericho Golf Course hosts over 120 golfers in the amateur tournament.
The tour has so far traversed Kakamega, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri, Nairobi and Kiambu Counties reaching over 1, 000 participants and over 600 juniors and ladies in the golf clinics that run concurrently with the golf series.
Recently, at the par 72 Nakuru Golf Club two more teams qualified for the Pro-Am grand finale making a total of 9 teams that have already secured a place in the November event.
“The golf series has enhanced the sport reaching many participants and providing a platform for budding golfers to learn the ropes of the game through our clinics. We are extremely delighted to host the 10th leg of the series at the Kericho golf course, one of the most amazing golf courses in the country. I urge golfers from within and without Kericho County to turn up in large numbers to enjoy the greens and fight for a place in the grand finale which will be a once in a lifetime experience,” noted KCB Group Director Marketing and Communication Rosalind Gichuru.
Kericho-based golfer Collins Kerich who emerged the overall winner at the 9th leg of the series will be keen to replicate his heroics at his home club on Saturday.
He said, “I want to be part of the contingent that will compete at the grand finale, so I have been working so hard to sharpen my skills. Hopefully my four-ball will have their swings on Saturday as I endeavor to be in the winning team of the day. I also pray that the weather will be conducive enough for a good golf outing at the lush Kericho course.”
The Saturday’s action will culminate in juniors’ and ladies’ golf clinic on Sunday afternoon before a tree planting exercise at the same venues as KCB continues with its sustainability efforts to embed it at the heart of its operations.
