The prestigious NCBA Ronald Marshall & Toby Gibson Trophy has attracted top leading Amateurs who will be salivating for a share of Ksh.200,000 at the picturesque Njoro Country Club in Nakuru County from Friday May 17th to Sunday, May 19th.
The Club founded in 1927 has a fairly difficult course measuring 6,877 yards with plenty of indigenous trees is a par 73, well lawned fairways and manicured greens.
The event is one of the ongoing 27 series in this year’s Kenya Golf Union (KGU) Calendar that promises to showcase top-tier golfing talent from across the Region, with 36 skilled golfers.

The NCBA Ronald Marshall & Toby Gibson Trophy features a captivating format, commencing with an 18-hole Strokeplay qualifier to determine seeding for the subsequent match play knockout rounds and this format sets the stage for thrilling competition and strategic gameplay amongst the participants.
In last year’s edition of the tournament, defending champion John Lejirma showcased his dominance, defeating Elvis Muigua decisively with a score of 8 up with 6 holes to play, securing his championship title.
Notably, the event carries significant weight in the golfing world, qualifying for both the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) ranking and the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), underscoring its importance on the international golfing calendar.
Participants will compete for a total prize pool of Ksh. 200,000, with the top eight performers earning a share of this coveted reward.
This NCBA Ronald Marshall & Toby Gibson Trophy promises three days of exciting golfing action against the stunning backdrop of Njoro Course, underscoring the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and excellence in the sport of Golf.
The next KGU event will be the Coronation & Blender trophy set to be played at the Nakuru Golf Club from 31st set, May to 2nd, June and will continue traversing across other Golf Club Course across the Country.
It will culminate with the Nyali Open Championship in December 13th to 19th at the Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa County where the Champion and Golfer of the year 204 will be Crowned.
