Geoffrey Waburi came out blazing to emerge the overall winner in this year’s ICEA Lion and Gachichio Insurance Brokers co-sponsored golf tournament played at the par 72 Kiambu Golf club course in Kiambu County on Saturday.
The handicap 18 Waburi carded and excellent 41 points to beat a team of 145 golfers in the day long tournament celebrating the enduring business relationship between the two Insurance Companies.
“I had prepared to face the day at the course and despite the cold weather and tricky pin positions, my swings and putting were good. This is a good victory for me hoping to bring more in the fourth coming events, “said Wamburi.
Handicap 23 F.N.Ndgewa was the Men winner on 40 points and taking up the Runners up slot on account back score of 38 points was handicap 26 C.W.Mwangi tying on the same score with third placed handicap 17 O.G.Githinji.
Ken Mwaura was the gross winner carding 83 gross and handicap 31 Mugwe Manga produced 35 points to win the Sponsor’s prize.
The Lady’s prize was scooped by handicap 27 Jillian Mwanza who carded 38 points while handicap 22 Grace Githere settled for the runners up slot with 36 points.
Handicap 37 Joseph Mwariri brought 38 points to win the Subsidiary prize as handicap 20 Don Mwaura on 32 points and handicap -2 Elvis Muigua with 31 points where the Senior and Junior winners respectively.
The Guest winner’s prize on 38 points was scooped by handicap 28 Patriciah Ngahu.

Meanwhile Watson Burugu teamed up with Wanjiku Mathu to clinch the 2024 Tilly Rose Bowl Trophy after emerging the overall team winners in the finals and Subsidiary’s tournament played at the 18 holes par 72 Vetlab Sports Club Course in Kiambu County on Saturday.
The Duo played out all their hearts to claim the trophy after beating the team of runners up placed Michael Kimuthia and Bernard Mandere 4/3.
The subsidiary winner on 43 points was handicap 28 Stanley Gachoki while handicap 23 Aggrey Sang on 42 points and handicap 5 Sharma Kushangra with 40 points were the runners up and third placed respectively.
