The Par 71 Nyeri Golf Club will the host for an estimated 78 top leading Amateurs  meeting again to test their muscles from Friday in the 71st edition of the Mt. Kenya Championship.

It’s a 54 holes strokes play tourney played over three days but all will play the first two rounds today and tomorrow after which the top 36 and ties will make the cut to the final round on the final day on Sunday.

The team of J. Komen, B.Omondi and P. Nderi will be the first to tee off at 7AM and at 1.08 PM will be the last flight of George Eshuchi, Victor Chesumei and Gabriel Miungi.

The event has historically been held every first weekend of February every year, however, this year it could not be held due to unfavorable dry course condition which resulted to its postponement.

Club Captain Jacob Nyaga has confirmed that the course is currently in great shape to host the elite amateurs and has also invited fans to come and cheer the golfers.

The Amateurs will be battling out for the prestigious title and a cash prize of Ksh. 400,000 proudly sponsored jointly by The NCBA Bank and Communications Authority of Kenya.

This is  one of the ongoing 26 series  in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship  (KAGC) 2023  Calendar organized by the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) which  counts  to  Golfer of the year and  also  earns points to the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
