Over 100 players are expected to compete at the 9-hole course nestled at the foothills of Mt. Kenya, eager to display their skills and passion for the game in the event set to tee off at 6.30 AM, promising a day of thrilling competition.

The Nanyuki leg will offer Golfers in the region a coveted chance to qualify for the Grand finale, scheduled to be held at Muthaiga Golf Club on 29th November 2024.
Six players from each qualifying events including the top Male and Female finishers in Divisions One, Two, and Three, as well as the overall Junior winner will secure their spots in the Final round.

To date, over 100 golfers have already qualified based on their performance in previous events, with the latest qualifiers emerging from the recent regional doubleheader at Nairobi’s VetLab Sports Club and Tanzania’s Gymkhana Golf Club last Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the event, NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora expressed his excitement saying, “We are thrilled to bring the NCBA Golf Series back to Nanyuki Sports Club after two years. This leg of the series holds a special place in our hearts, and we look forward to reconnecting with the golfing community here. Our commitment to supporting sports and community development remains unwavering, and we are excited to see what this year’s tournament will bring.”

Gachora also highlighted the Bank’s dedication to environmental sustainability stating that, “As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are planting indigenous trees everywhere we set foot, and we will plant 100 trees in Nanyuki, just as we have done in previous events. This initiative aligns with our broader sustainability goals and contributes to the preservation of our natural environment—and by extension, our playing environment.”

Nanyuki Sports Club Captain Anthony Rukwaro shared his enthusiasm for the event’s return saying, “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the NCBA Golf Series back to Nanyuki. This event has always been a highlight of our club’s calendar, and after two years, we are ready to host an unforgettable tournament. Our course is in top condition, and we are eager to see both familiar faces and new participants take on the challenge. It’s going to be a fantastic day of golf, and we’re grateful to NCBA for bringing this prestigious event back to our club.”

The Nanyuki event is one of the four remaining qualifiers in the 2024 series in Kenya, with the other three set to take place in September and October.
