GOLF NEWS-Over 150 golfers set for the Heritage Insurance Tournament at Nanyuki this weekend.

-As Juniors displays their skills and talents in the 3rd edition of the NCBA Coast Junior Open at Sea-Link Mombasa Course.

An estimated 150 golfers will brace the current coldness to battle in the Heritage Insurance Golf tournament to be played at the par 72 Nanyuki Sports Club Course set around the breathtaking views of Mount Kenya on Saturday.


The daylong 18 holes’ tournament that has brought golfers from the home club with others across the Country, Guests and Staffs with valid handicap kicks off from from 6.30 am with the team flight of J. Mataha and I. Kirimi.


Club Captain Mike Mwirigi assured golfers that the course is in great shape despite the rains and said that it is always exciting to host Heritage Golf tournament at Nanyuki Sports Cub.
“Heritage Insurance is one of our oldest sponsors and we look forward to a memorable weekend, “said Mwirigi.


Club chairman Joseph Mwangi confirmed a lot of exciting prizes has been lined up for the winners and that this being the 18th Golf Sponsorship edition of Heritage Insurance, as Nanyuki Sports Club, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Company.
“This is a true testament of commitment on the part of our sponsor not only towards the advancement of golf as a sport but also to giving back to society. Sponsor Heritage Insurance has brought in a large team as players and spectators led by its Managing Director Rosalyn Mugoh and Group Head of Distribution Liberty Kenya Holdings Limited Judith Odhiambo.
Others expected to be present are General Manager Heritage Medical Business Tony Mwangi, Head of Retail Business Simon Chege, BDM-Heritage James Kamiri, Zep Representative Brian Tarus and host Heritage Insurance Nanyuki Branch Manager Isaac Wainaina.


Elsewhere at the par 71 Sea-Link Mombasa Golf course, it will be a packed action from Friday to Sunday as over 100 Juniors display their skills and talents in the 3rd edition of the NCBA Coast Junior Open Golf tournament.

The junior tournament has attracted from the home clubs, Coast Golf Clubs and others across the Country Golf Clubs with handicap limits of 28.0 for boys and 36.0 for girls.

As part of NCBA’s broader efforts to grow the game from the ground up, the event underscores the Bank’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of Kenyan golfers.
The tournament is organized by the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) and is one of the ongoing series being played around the Country.

Coast JGF Representative Mary Mariga said preparation has been complete and the course in pristine condition featuring top Juniors from the host club who featured in the just concluded Tannahil Hill Shield at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club where they emerged 4th.
“I assure the Juniors will enjoy their game and return back to school with nice memories as we have set up plenty of fun activities and sterling prizes awaiting them, “said Mariga.
