GOLF NEWS-Over 200 players to meet in the Jamu Imaging Foundation (JIF) Charity tournament at Nyali.

Some 200 Golfers are expected to grace this year’s Jamu Imaging Foundation (JIF) Charity golf tournament set to be played at the Par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County on Saturday.
The golfers drawn from the home club, all the Coast Golf Clubs and others from up Country will be playing the 18 holes’ day long tournament to raise funds for the support of Emmanuel Junior Primary School’s infrastructure development in Kwale County.


Its organized by Jamu Imaging Foundation (JIF) and supported by ACK St. Peters Nyali, Andy Golf, Equity Bank, Pauland, La Fattoria Resort and Hotel, Kwetu Villas, Mizaj Africa, Heztech Engineering, Supply Linkages, and many more others.

Club Captain Omar Lewa said yesterday that this Charity Golf tournament is set for a great cause where every swing counts and will be teeing off from as early as 6 am from both the first and tenth Tee off boxes.
“We are ready, set and the condition of the course is superb following the ongoing rains. So whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a beginner, this event is perfect for everyone. We look forward to your participation in making this event a success,” said Lewa.

Club Chairman Jayne Githere added her voice saying the club is thrilled to host and fully participate in the Charity meet where Golfers will be swinging for a worthy cause.
“It is indeed our pleasure to welcome all the Golfers and expect them to have a wonderful Saturday both around and off the course. This time no any swing will be wasted but will be going to assist a desperate Child in our community. We look forward to hosting more such tournaments, “noted Githere.

Home club golfers Eliud Bett and Shem Aboge among others said they are happy to be part of the players eagerly waiting for the big day at the course saying that together, golfers can drive change and empower young minds through education in such tournaments.
Others will be the former Club Captain Dinesh Sasan, Johnstone Wamunyua, Andrew Miheso, Jabess Oduor, Michael Sangoro, Charles Odoo, Reaz Alibhai, Sandeep Gudka, Tom Abwao, Martin Wahome and Wilfred Achila.


They are expected to be joined by several colleagues from the nearby Sea-Link Mombasa Golf Club led by its Chairman Lawrence Odhiambo while Hamida Chidagaya and Pauline Nduva will be among team mates from Malindi and Kwale’s Diamond Leisure Clubs.

Among other Lady golfers will be the Home Club Lady Captain Hilda Mugure, lady golfers Mary Kandu, Christine Ockotch, Alice Wahome, Terry Odoo, Florence Karimi, Connie Achila, Diana Nthiwa, Joan Kimani, Divinah Ongaki, Everline Akinyi, janet Wasike, Petronilah Kalee, Mercy Wafula and Regina Kaveke.

JIF founders Dr. Peter Umara and Felix Obara said this tournament aims to unite individuals, corporate partners, and golf enthusiasts in a shared mission to raise funds for a deserving school in Kwale.

They pointed out that the participation and contributions of the Golfers will have a direct and meaningful impact on the education and future of underprivileged children in Kwale County.
“Let’s make a difference together, one swing at a time. Enjoy a day of fun, networking and philanthropy as you bring your A-game and a big heart. Whether you choose to play, sponsor, or partner with us, your support as individual or Group Corporate or Individual will help the programe in a big way, “said Umara and Obara.
The founders further explained that JIF aims at enhancing accessible and affordable healthcare by addressing critical challenges related to healthcare accessibility and affordability by focusing on education.


Others Umara and Obara said includes poverty reduction in communities, and the provision of diagnostic imaging equipment through partnerships with mission hospitals in remote areas.
“Together, we can drive change and empower young minds through education, “said Umara and Obara.
The competition fee is set at Ksh. 1,000 per Golfer, Four Ball Sponsors at Ksh. 8,000 for Corporate or Individual Golfers.
Established in 2024, the Jamu Imaging Foundation is an extension of the work initiated by Jamu Imaging Centre Limited, aimed at enhancing accessible and affordable healthcare.
The Foundation addresses critical challenges related to healthcare accessibility and affordability by focusing on education, poverty reduction in communities and the provision of diagnostic imaging equipment through partnerships with mission hospitals in remote areas.
Jamu Imaging Foundation stands out as a dedicated volunteer organization championing quality healthcare to promote the well-being of underserved communities in Kenya.
They rely on the generous contributions of individual supporters and corporate partners as well as collaborative efforts to sustain and expand our programs.
