Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its flagship brand, Tusker announced a Ksh.22 million partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) to support this year’s Safari Sevens tournament.
The sponsorship positions KBL as the official alcoholic beverage and entertainment partner for the event, which is set to take place from 11th to 13th October 2024 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.
Tusker first became the title sponsor of the Safari Sevens in the early 1990s, establishing itself as a key player in the development and growth of the sport in the Country.
This year’s partnership marks yet another milestone in that legacy, further solidifying the brand’s dedication to both the tournament and the sport of Rugby.
KBL Managing Director Mark Ocitti expressed the Company’s pride in being part of Kenya’s Rugby story saying they are thrilled to once again be involved in this prestigious tournament.

KRU Vice-Chairman Moses Ndale welcomed the partnership, acknowledging the significant role KBL and the Tusker brand have played in supporting rugby over the years.

Ndale also highlighted the importance of the sponsorship in ensuring the smooth running of the tournament, especially given the logistical challenges involved in hosting an event of such scale.

The Safari Sevens has long been regarded as one of the premier Rugby events in Africa, drawing both Professional and Amateur teams from around the world.
This year, the tournament will feature a diverse line-up of teams across both the Men’s and women’s categories. The confirmed teams so far are;
Men’s Teams-Kenya Shujaa (Defending champions), Kenya Morans, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Qatar, Shogun Rugby, Tropic 7s, Mayotte.
Women’s Teams-Kenya Lionesses, Kenya Cubs, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Tropic 7s, Spanish Barbarians, Shogun Rugby.
