Pepeta, the country’s newest and fastest-growing betting firm, is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the first-ever Pepeta Iwake Fest, a two-day grassroots football tournament held on 29th and 30th August at the Mumias Sports Complex.
The tournament brought together 32 local male teams from Mumias and neighboring areas,giving talented footballers who are not part of competitive leagues a rare chance to showcase
their skills.


Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pepeta Joseph Mbugua, praised the players, fans and
community for making the inaugural tournament a success.
“The Iwake Fest is more than just football, it is about giving back to the community and creating opportunities for young, talented players who have not had a platform to showcase their abilities. The passion and energy we witnessed over these two days is proof that Kenya is full of raw talent waiting to be discovered. As Pepeta, we are committed to making this tournament bigger and better. Our goal is to grow the Iwake Fest into an annual event that not only promotes grassroots football but also uplifts communities by creating a sense of pride, unity, and opportunity. This is just the beginning, and we are excited to expand the festival to include women’s football and other sports soon. We believe the future of Kenyan football lies at the grassroots, and Pepeta is proud to be playing a part in shaping that future,” said Mbugua.


Winners of the first edition were.
1st Place-Matungu All Stars-Awarded Ksh. 150,000.
2nd Place-Green Villa FC-Awarded Ksh. 100,000.
3rd Place-Ihonje Warriors-Awarded Ksh. 75,000.
The atmosphere at the Mumias Sports Complex was described as electric, with fans turning up in large numbers to support their teams.

With the success of this first edition, Pepeta has confirmed that the Iwake Fest will return next year, with bigger plans already underway.
