GOLF NEWS-A ‘hole in one’ for a brand new Audi Car by Kushi Motors set for players in ‘Kambasome’ tournament at Sea-Link Mombasa Course.

A brand new Audi Q3 car worth Ksh.4.2 Million donated by Kushi Motors is set for a ‘Hole in One” during the ‘Kambasome’ Golf tournament to be played at the par 71 Sea-Link Mombasa golf Course in Mombasa County on Saturday.
This day long 18 holes stable ford tournament organized by the ‘Wakwitu’ Golfing community in its third edition at the Club brings together players from the Home Club, Nyali, Diani’s Diamond Leisure, Kilifi’s Vipingo Baobab, Malindi, Machakos, and others from the Central Region.
The over 150 players will be targeting to sink a rare hole in one at the shortest par 3-12th hole to drive home with the Car in this third edition at the Club that was also missed last year.

Ken Wamaria live and Machinery Boys Live Band will be entertaining the event that is being jointly sponsored by Kushi Motors Limited,Envasses Environmental Consutants Limited,Kenya Airways, Pauland,Quick Movers,Pro Golf Master,CTM,MMK,Wakwitu Queens,Deansbrook Schools,Leif,Artha, Premier Hospital, and Friends of Kambasome among others.

‘Wakwitu’ Golf Community Chairman Joseph Kitema said the tournament is aimed promoting and celebrating the ‘Kamba’ Culture with diversity and making friendship, through the Sport of Golf.
“The event is a cultural celebration and networking opportunity that promotes Kamba culture, featuring Golf, food, music, and fellowship. This is what Golf is all about, bringing people together. The players will also enjoy Kamba music, traditional food (like Mutokoi) and social networking, “said Kitema.
Club Chairman Lawrence Odhiambo said they are pleased to host once again to this exciting Cultural and that the Club team has worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.

At the Royal Nairobi Golf Club on the same day, over 100 elite amateurs will be playing the 2025 edition of the Uhuru Shield from Friday to Sunday.
This strongest and most diverse players’ fields will be seeking to get a share of the Ksh. 500,000 prize share and also compete for one of Kenya’s most prestigious amateur titles.
Title holder Michael Karanga claimed last year’s title with an impressive -4, and the spotlight now shifts to a trio of top contenders John Lejirma, Elvis Muigua and Isaac Makokha who are widely expected to challenge strongly this year.
Home club’s John Lejirma, enters the tournament as a major favorite, with his home- course advantage and a history of strong performances at Royal Nairobi, He is expected to be one of the key players to watch during the three-day championship.
Elvis Muigua, one of Kenya’s rising young stars, who has been on a powerful upward trajectory in recent seasons.
His steady growth, competitive edge and top finishes at national events position him as a strong challenger for the title.
The event’s 2023 title holder Isaac Makokha return brings valuable experience and a proven winning formula at Royal Nairobi and with his past victory, makes him one of the players with the best chance of reclaiming the shield.
These three contenders will face a deep field featuring top amateurs from Kenya and across East Africa, with several strong players from Rwandan, Ugandan, Malawian and Burundi.
As anticipation builds, the tournament is set to deliver memorable moments and an exhilarating battle for one of the most respected trophies on the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) circuit.
This will be second final leg of the KAGC series before the final with the Nyali Open Championship set for Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County from 12th to 14th December, where this year’s Golfer of the year (GOTY) will be crowned.
And at the par-72, 18-hole Karen Country Club Course in Nairobi, a total of 40 elite teams from across East Africa region have booked their place in the grand finale of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour, also teeing off today on Friday.
These team players qualified to the tournament’s tour from various legs held throughout the year in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
Karen Country Club Captain Charles Omanga said the course is in excellent condition and we look forward to offering Golfers an unforgettable experience.
“This Tour has become a powerful platform for talent development and regional unity, and we are excited to see who rises to the top this year, “said Omanga.
The finale is also being jointly supported by EABL, Salute iWorld, Sensations, and Africa Collect Textiles (ACT).
KCB Group Chief Executive Officer Paul Russo said they excited to return to the Club and anticipate a fiercely contested finale and perhaps a new champion from a different Country.

By taking the tournament across East Africa, we have fostered unity, strengthened cross-border relationships, and created meaningful opportunities for golfers of all ages. The winning team will again receive KShs. 1 million toward a sustainability initiative in their home club,” said Russo.
This year’s circuit attracted over 3,000 Golfers and engaged more than 2,000 Juniors through a series of Golf clinics aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent.
