Parents excited with their youngsters sterling performances during the third round of the of the KC Junior Golf Series 2026 played at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa County on Sunday.
The day long tournament featuring an impressive field of 71 youngsters of ages between 5 to 18 years old saw the winners in various categories awarded medals in this ongoing Coastal Junior Golf series tournament that attracted the youngsters across the Coast Region’s Golf clubs from hosts Nyali, Seafront Mombasa, Diamond Leisure, Vipingo Baobab Ridge and Malindi.

Aryan Awe Joseph proved his dominance in the 14 to 18 years’ boys’ category after a round of 18 holes, bringing home 93 gross to emerge the overall winner, beating David Kaguru to the runners up by a 6 strokes difference.
In the girls 11 to 15 years old side, it was Nikki Pattni shining with a lead of 100 gross while Ivanna Wanjiki carried the runners up medal on 110 gross.
Lucas Kampa carded 86 gross to win the Boys 12 to 14 years old group and taking the runners up slot on 115 gross was Casey Ombija.
For the boys 10 to 12years age group, Marcel Adeyemo was the best with a score of 93 gross displacing Craig Fassler to runners up place by a single stroke difference.
And after rounds of 9 holes in the boys 8 to 10 yeas age section, Fateh Hunjan needed only 43 gross to claim the top prize while Raheel Kadernani came behind on score of 45 gross.
While the winner’s top prize for the girls aged 8 to 11 years was claimed by Avian Klee on a count back score of 53 gross, tying on the same score with runners up placed Samara Teneva.
Benny Salzmann went home with the boys 8 and under medal after carding 52 gross and Mohamed Hamid came second on 54 gross while the girls’ side in the same age category saw Maria Zawadi post 51 gross to claim the top as Zemyrah Winfrey settled for the runners up post on 72 gross.
Parents led by Mahmood Nurani praised the organizers for the successful tournament saying, “Hats off to you all, the Club and all those involved. Kids had a lovely and lively day out today. Much respect.”
One of the organizers Sheel Dodhia noted that the vision of the tournament is long-term, saying it’s a significant milestone for the growth of junior golf and that this year’s series will be the first to be played across all five premier courses in the Coastal region.
“The series will be contested across nine age categories, catering to players from as young as 5 to 18 years, creating a structured and inclusive pathway for junior development. We as Organizers are delighted at the continued growth of the series, particularly the encouraging number of new players joining the tour this season, “said Dodhia.
He pointed out that a key highlight of the series will be the grand finale, where overall winners in each category will be crowned based on consistent performance throughout the season.
He further said this series is about giving juniors exposure to different courses, building confidence and creating a clear development pathway for young golfers along the coast.
The organizers thanked Nyali, parents, sponsors, coaches, and volunteers for their continued support in helping build junior golf in the country.
Attention now shifts to the 4th Round of the Series to be staged at Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi County on May 31st, where another strong field of junior golfers are expected to compete.
The first round was played at Diani’s Diamond Leisure last month, followed by the second round at the Seafront Mombasa and the 4th round is now scheduled to be staged at the Vipingo Baobab Ridge.
It will then go to Malindi before the grand final scheduled at Nyali in Mombasa County later in the year.
