GOLF NEWS-NCBA Golf Series to be held at Kenya Air force Golf Club this weekend;

-Coveted spots at the series Grand Finale later this year is up for grabs by the estimated 100 golfers participating in the tournament;

Over 100 golfers are expected to participate in the ninth edition of the 2024 NCBA Golf Series and the first time to be held at the Kenya Airforce Golf Club’s 9-hole course in Nairobi Eastleigh’s promising a unique golfing experience.


The Golfers are all set to tee off, vying for coveted spots at the series Grand Finale later this year where slots will be awarded to the winners of the Division 1 (Men & Ladies), Division 2 (Men & Ladies), the overall Division 3 victor, and the standout performer in the Junior category.
NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said they are honored to host the 12th leg of the Series at the Club, bringing them closer to the grand finale.
“We’re particularly excited to introduce this exceptional course to the series for the first time and we are hoping to witness exceptional talent, similar to what we have seen in previous tournaments, “said Gachora.

He pointed out that the tournament aligns perfectly with NCBA’s commitment to supporting the Sport of Golf at all levels and that by bringing the Series to new venues like the Kenya Airforce Golf Club they can expose a wider audience to the Sport and contribute to the growth of Kenya’s Golfing community.
The Kenya Air force leg follows the successful eighth edition held last Saturday at the Windsor Golf Club where handicap 14 Jean Pierre Smith dominated the competition with a stellar 66 Nett score, claiming the Overall Winner title.


Division One saw handicap Nguru Wachira triumph with a 67 Nett score, closely followed by handicap 12 Peter Wairegi who finished as Runner-Up with a 73 Nett score.


Handicap 19 James Mburu secured victory in Division Two with a 68 Nett score, while handicap 14 Karim Charania finished as Runner-pp with a 71 Nett score.


The Ladies category belonged to Tazz Padamshi (handicap 16) who carded a remarkable 70 Nett score. Amar Shah (handicap 9) emerged as the Junior champion with a commendable 78 Nett score.


The Kenya Air Force Golf Club, located at the Moi Airbase in Eastleigh, Nairobi, boasts a rich history dating back to its inauguration in 2002. Featuring an exquisite modern course and facilities, the club was initially developed as an exclusive facility for military personnel to unwind and hone their golfing skills.


Recognizing the wider community’s passion for the sport, the course was later opened to the public, becoming a popular destination for golfers of all levels.
