GOLF NEWS -Nduva comes from behind to grab day three lead of the ongoing Safari Tour Season six event at Vetlab;

Kenya Youthful Professional Golfer Daniel Nduva comes from behind to carry day three  lead of the ongoing Safari Tour Season six golf tournament being played at the par 72 Vet Lab Sports Club on Tuesday.

Going to the final rounds on Wednesday,the Betika Sponsored tournament saw Nduva starting on a bad note  in day  one with a six overs ,recovered in day two with a level par and adding an excellent  five under  in day three on tuesday to finish with 5 under par to lead  with a total score to 219 gross.

“I started off badly with difficult chipping but played my best round in day two and three and hope to finish with a lead, though it’s tight. The Course is playing well and I hope it will be fine with my game improving every day, “said Nduva who started his Golf career at the Seafront Mombasa Golf Club and Nyali Golf and Country Club as a Junior to Amateur before joining the Professional Club.

The event that started on Sunday showcased the talents of 20 exceptional players who qualified for rounds three on Tuesday before the final round four on Wednesday creating an intense and competitive atmosphere on the golf course.

Local favorite Mike Kisia secured the second position on a total of 220 gross as Njuguna Ngugi and Samuel Njoroge, representing the Railway Golf Club, tied with 221 gross to share the third slot.

As the tournament enters its final phase on Wednesday, all eyes are set for the showdown with stakes high where the ultimate winner will walk away with a substantial cash prize of Ksh 150,000.

​ Tournament referee Watson Burugu said, “We’ve witnessed some extraordinary performances on the course over the past few days, and the competition is fierce. Daniel Nduva’s exceptional play has set a high standard, and it will be thrilling to see who emerges victorious in the final round.”

Kenya Open Golf Limited has announced four more events in the series, promising an exciting lineup of golfing action.

The top 8 players of the Safari Tour series will earn the privilege to participate in the prestigious 2024 Magical Kenya Open, a highly anticipated event on the golfing calendar.

The event organized by Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL) has attracted professional players from various corners of the continent, with representatives hailing from Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and the proud host nation, Kenya.
