Over 240 top Amateur Golfers from Nairobi and its environs are expected to headline the second edition of the Institute of Public Finance (IPF) golf tournament at the lush par 72 Ruiru Golf Course this Saturday.
The one-day tournament will get underway at 6:30 am for the morning tee while the afternoon tee will swing into action at 12:30 pm as Golfers battle it out at the 18-hole course for the top prizes.
Speaking ahead of the tourney, Ruiru Sports Club captain J.K Muraguri said, “We expect a huge turnout this weekend, our course is in pristine condition and our amenities provides a wide array of opportunities to golfers to enjoy themselves. We have a longstanding relationship with IPF therefore, this tournament underscores our commitment to growing the game and the value we attach to partnerships that go a long way in fostering lasting relationships.”
Long-hitting Stephen Kungu, Atlanta Wamahia, Elias Kariuki, Thomas Mwaura and Esthwt Thal are some of the big names who are expected to take on the course, they emerged victorious during last week’s tournament at the same venue.
“We are always yearning to showcase our prowess against the top amateur golfers in the country. I am grateful to IPF for bringing this tournament back to our course, I am certain we will pick from where we left from last week to clinch this prestigious event. I urge golfers to show up in large numbers for a good round of golf,” noted golfer Stephen Kungu.
The Ruiru Sports Club has become a home for many corporate golf events owing to its pristine course and amenities that attract many golfers to the par 72 course.
The weekend’s tourney has also been powered by Prudential, Eland & Space Tours and Travel, Bank of Africa, Brics Insights, CIC Group, NCK Insurance Brokers, Fibercom technologies, and Epal Agencies.
The Institute of Public Finance was established in 2013 with the intention of promoting transparency and accountability in Public Finance Management (PFM) in Kenya.
The Institution conducts research, capacity strengthening, training and advocacy for both state and non-state actors at the national and county levels.
