GOLF NEWS-Thika Greens and Ruiru to host the 2024 ICEA Lion King of the Course Golf Series this weekend;

-The tornaments kicks off at Thika Greens on Friday with over 200 golfers and on Saturday at Ruiru Sports featuring an estimated 250 golfers;

Its pomp and splendor as this weekend kicks off with the 2024 ICEAN Lion King of the Course Golf tournament to be held at Thika Greens Golf Resort course and Ruiru Sports Club course on Friday and Saturday respectively in Kiambu County.

The 18-hole corporate day comprising some 200  Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) and Senior executives from across the Country will  commence as a curtain raiser in the ICEA LION 2024 King of the course golf series  at The Thika greens and will be the second edition of the event’s Circuit series.

The third series will be featuring over 250 golfers in the following day on Saturday at Ruiru Sports Club Course.

ICEA LION Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Philip Lopokoiyit said they are pleased to welcome the golfers to both Thika Greens and Ruiru Sports Club for the Edition of the Circuit legs and will be happy to once again meet their existing and potential customers and other stakeholders in the year opener tournaments.

“The 2024 series started off on a high note in Machakos on January 6th, January and is getting much bigger and better and we are all excited at this great opportunity for continued engagement with our existing and potential clients together with stakeholders across Kenya. The tournaments promise to be a source of excitement, continuous client engagement, and, above all, a celebration of the thriving golfing community, “said Lopokoiyit.

He pointed out that the Company remains committed and steadfast to not only enhancing competitiveness within the sport but also to fostering greater participation in golf, attracting enthusiasts and novices alike.

Thika Greens Golf Captain Henry Kinyua is happy and looking forward to host the series at the lush, 18-holes par 73 modern golf course which has over the years grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in 2014, providing a world class hospitality service offering a mix of leisure, business and recreation.

The golf Captain of Ruiru Sports Club Jesse Ndegwa said the Club as always is also thrilled to playing host to the third edition of the tournament and noted that it only gets better with every year being special and also is an opportunity for growth of the sports.

ICEA Lion Golf Series Captain Joe Mboya said that from Ruiru, the series moves to Nanyuki Sports Club on March 9th before taking a deserved break after which it will head north to Eldoret Sports Club in May for a curtain raising club nite before landing at Nandi Bears Club on the following day.

“The Grand Winner of the 2023 series is scheduled to participate in 2024 Lekoa Classic on April 26th and 27th at Parys Golf  and Country Estate-Vaal De Grace, in South Africa,”Said Mboya.
